Things to Do

John B. Mahaffey Museum Complex
A complex of military museums, which includes a complete replica of a WWII camp, outdoor Military Vehicle Museum, as well as an Amy Engineer Museum that details the history of engineers in the US Military from the Revolutionary War to present.
Outdoor Adventure Center
Fort Leonard Wood is on over 60,000 acres of land, and the Outdoor Adventure Center is the hub for outdoor fun. From fishing, hunting, archery, firearms, and more, the Outdoor Adventure Center has information on it all.
With a mini-golf course, go-kart track, and a large outdoor pool, slide, and splash park, the Rec Plex has something for everyone. Rent a party room or pavilion for special events.
Go on a beautiful hike in Fort Leonard Wood up to these enormous caves. They are the only caves in Ft Leonard Wood that are open to the public. Follow the short (but steep!) walk to get a beautiful view, 150 feet above Big Piney River.
Visiting the Base
If you’re visiting a soldier at the base, follow the specific information provided to you in their graduation or visitation package. When visiting the base, you will need to provide Photo ID, as well as vehicle registration and proof of insurance. See the Fort Leonard Wood website for more information!
